BIDSAlert tender notification service has been developed with our subscribers in mind. Our service has been designed to provide you with the necessary opportunities without worrying about missing tenders.

Each tender entered into the BIDS system is assigned a commodity code. These codes are based on the GSN codes initially used by the federal government. In recent years, there has been increasing use of the UNSPC codes, which we have incorporated into our system.

Choosing categories can be daunting. Our categories are deliberately broad so you don't miss opportunities. By scanning one file once a day, you can quickly find tenders of value to you.

BIDS also carries several EOIs for the Canadian Offshore oil and gas industry. These notices use a separate set of categories. In the middle 90s, BIDS collaborated with Mobil (now Exxon) Oil to develop a comprehensive set of categories specific to the oil and gas industry. These codes are particular to the industry, with each category broken down into many subcategories.
